Enable WSL2 without Insiders program
Update for 2022: this post is outdated. To install WSL2, follow official guide. Every time I do it, it gets a bit easier.
Offical site lists 6 steps installation guide that was needed when WSL 1 was default version. I don’t think it’s needed anymore.
- Go to Windows Features and enable Windows Subsystems for Lixus and Virtual Machine Platform.
- Set WSL 2 as default version.
- Download Ubuntu from Windows Store.
