Wordpad can open docx files

TIL that Wordpad can open docx files. Apparently, this has been a thing since 2007. And all this time, whenever I needed to open a docx, I would drop it into Google Drive first and open it with Google Docs, or re-save as .doc or PDF. Like an idiot.

Sadly, I also learned today that Wordpad was discontinued in a 2024 Windows 11 update. It no longer ships with Windows. So we’re back to using either Word or Google Docs. Like an idiots.
